Rock and Roll’s First Lady
Aretha Franklin made history in 1987 when she became the first woman ever to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She paved the way for many generations of female artists and inspired young African American girls. You may wonder who did the honors. It’s the one and only Keith Richards (from the Rolling Stones).
When he introduced her, he referred to her as “the first lady to be introduced into the Hall of fame.” Although she has been singing since an extremely young age, this was one of Franklin’s biggest accomplishments. They don’t call her the Queen of Soul for nothing. Franklin has proved that she has a natural-born talent and one of the world’s more powerful voices.
