His mom was a huge country fan, so she would urge him to belt out George Strait songs while driving him into town. Although he loved giving his mom private concerts, Bryan was ready to show his talents to other people. He started entertaining small crowds at a local club.

Bryan enjoyed performing and joined his school musicals to get more practice. His performances got him noticed by two local songwriters who wrote tunes for Nashville artists. They asked Bryan to join their writing sessions at a local church. It made him want to move to Nashville to pursue a career in music.
