Courtney Cox in Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing in the Dark”
While some people think Courtney Cox got her big break on Friends, she actually became famous after appearing in Bruce Springsteen’s video for “Dancing in the Dark.” In the iconic video directed by Brian De Palma, Springsteen invited a young woman from the audience on stage to dance with him.

Cox was the lucky girl chosen from the crowd. Springsteen thought she was a pre-selected fan attending the show. He didn’t know Cox was a professional actress until afterward. An alternate storyline showed Cox and her friends preparing for the concert before one gets picked, but it was scrapped.
