Justin Timberlake did more than just write a song about his ex-girlfriend Britney Spears. He went one step further and hired a Britney lookalike to be featured in his music video (“y’know, just in case you weren’t entirely sure who the song was about”). While it was obvious to pretty much everyone who saw the video, he only fessed up much later.

Timberlake finally admitted that the song was written about his ex: “I was on a phone call that was not the most enjoyable phone call. I walked into the studio and he [Timbaland] could tell I was visibly angry.” The result? Cry Me A River. By the way, Britney’s song, Everytime, was released a few weeks later in what was allegedly her response to JT. Oh, young dramatic love.
