What Happened to Tawny Kitaen After the Whitesnake Video?

An ‘80s MTV Icon

Kitaen was married to Whitesnake’s lead singer, David Coverdale, from 1989 to 1991. She was later married to baseball player Chuck Finley from 1997 until 2002, which gave rise to not only headlines but lawsuits and jail time. Kitaen may have been an icon in the ‘80s, but her life before and after the MTV era wasn’t as glamorous.

Kitaen was born in 1961 in San Diego, California. She adopted the nickname “Tawny” at the age of 12. This was also around the time she learned she had dyslexia, which influenced her education – or lack thereof. She went to Mission Bay High School in San Diego but had to leave due to health issues. That’s when she got into modeling and acting.
