Mamma’s Girl
Madonna was brought into the world on November 16, 1958, in Bay City, Michigan. She caused controversy when she referred to her native town as a “little, smelly town in northern Michigan” on national television. But many people took it out of context; she followed the comment by saying she has great affection for her room.
Madonna is one of six children. She was named after her mother Madonna Louise who tragically died of breast cancer when Madonna was just five. Her family called her Little Nonnie, in order to differentiate between the mother and daughter.
