Love and Rock n’ Roll: Iconic Rockstar Couples

John Lennon and Yoko Ono – Now

In 1973, Ono said she needed a break from Lennon, so she set him up with her assistant May Pang and left for New York. He had an 18-month relationship with Pang until Ono and Lennon reconciled. After they got back together, Ono gave birth to their son Sean Lennon on John’s birthday. They were mostly happy, and Lennon wrote many songs about his love for Ono.

Over the next five years of their relationship, Lennon put music on the backburner to raise his son. He returned to music with approval from Ono and released “Double Fantasy” in 1980. The couple was together for 11 years until Lennon’s tragic assassination. Ono continues to pay tribute to her late husband’s legacy with projects and monuments. As a couple, they proved that “love is all you need.”
