Perry Gives Us an Inside Look
Perry shared that she hated the production of “What’s Up” and felt like the entire ensemble of the band completely mischaracterized who she was and what she wanted to portray. “When I heard our record for the first time, I cried,” she admitted.

She didn’t do so bad for herself as she went to prove she could write songs for Christina Aguilera, Alicia Keys, Gwen Stefani, and Courtney Love. 2011 marked the years she was trying to put together a new band called the Deep Dark Robot to display who she was.
