The Struggle Called Growing Up
After the divorce, Don Everly, pleading poverty, didn’t pay for Erin’s child support. This resulted in Erin and her siblings growing up in less-than-luxurious circumstances. Venetia Stevenson, Erin’s mum, worked as a clothing designer. This brought in some money, but not sufficient enough to maintain the exclusive lifestyle previously afforded.
In 1974, Venetia relocated the family from an upscale Studio City neighborhood to a more affordable rented home in Los Angeles. It didn’t end there from The Buckley Private school for the upper class; Erin and her siblings transferred to public schools. This marked a remarkable lifestyle change.
